If I put down my white sign, odds are very high the host who summoned me didn't clear the level whatsoever beforehand and is already invaded and 3 invaders + an army of deacons and silver knights is very bad odds, especially with a host who lacked the confidence to fight these enemies without invaders and is apparently hording their seeds for the forest of giants they want to replant. But I don't really like PvP that much and people seem to congregate to fight Aldrich Faithful, or fight alongside them, but that whole thing sucks for me.

Invasions/being invaded gets you a lot of souls though, so it seems by far the best way to keep leveling up once you're really high level. There's not much real coop in this range since just about everyone seems to get tired of doing NG+'s eventually and no bonfire ascetics hurt a lot.
